Lighthouse Announces New President and CEO

OCTOBER 28, 2025 — Lighthouse Youth & Family Services (Lighthouse) has named George Guy as its next president and CEO effective December 1, 2025.

George Guy III

“We are excited to welcome George as Lighthouse’s new president and CEO,” said Lighthouse Board of Trustees Chair Doug Bierer. “His strong leadership experience, passion for serving youth and families, and dedication to community align fully with Lighthouse’s mission and core values. The board looks forward to working together with George to continue to improve how we serve young people and our communities.”

Guy joins Lighthouse after serving 11 years as CEO/Executive Director of the Fort Wayne Housing Authority (FWHA), a nationally recognized organization supporting thousands of families through affordable housing initiatives and community development programs. Guy oversaw an annual budget of over 60 million at FWHA and guided the creation of more than $200 million in community development projects, expanding opportunities for veterans, foster youth, individuals with disabilities, and survivors of domestic violence in Indiana and Illinois. He previously served as FWHA’S Deputy Executive Director.

“I’m appreciative to step into this role and work alongside the exceptional team at Lighthouse Youth & Family Services to further its mission,” said Guy. “By collaborating with nonprofit partners, donors, and community leaders, we’ll strengthen the organization’s impact and expand pathways of hope, growth, and opportunity.”

In addition to his work at FWHA, Guy served as President of the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials (NAHRO), the nation’s leading membership organization for housing and community development professionals, from 2023 to 2025. During his presidency, he led national efforts to advance advocacy, equity, and innovation in affordable housing and community.

Additionally, he has served as chairman of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis’ Affordable Housing Advisory Council, advisory council member for the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago’s Community and Economic Development Council, board member of the United Way of Allen County, and board member of the Moving to Work (MTW) Collaborative.

Guy has received numerous recognitions for his contributions to housing and social justice, including the Civil Rights Champions Award from the Indiana Civil Rights Commission, presented to a leader whose work embodies Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy of advocacy and equality; the Prosperity Indiana Michael Carroll Community Economic Development Leadership Award; and the Indiana NAHRO George W. Guy Leadership Award.

Paul Haffner, Lighthouse’s current president and CEO, announced his retirement in February 2025 and will transition to an advisory role through December 31, 2025.

“It has been an honor to serve as president and CEO of Lighthouse Youth & Family Services for the past nine years,” said Haffner. “I am proud of what we’ve accomplished together and am confident that George has the vision and experience to build upon our progress. The future of Lighthouse is bright. I look forward to seeing the innovative ways the team will continue to make a difference in the lives of our young people and families. “
