This month, the focus is on services for young people experiencing homelessness. The Lighthouse Sheakley Center for Youth houses 36 individual shelter bedrooms, a resource center, our street outreach team, and 39 apartments. Through Lighthouse Youth Housing Opportunities, young adults master essential life skills while living in safe, furnished apartments located in the Sheakley Center or at scattered sites in Hamilton County.

This month, the focus is on Lighthouse Outpatient Services. Lighthouse provides behavioral health and mental health services for children, youth, and families experiencing challenges in the home, school, or community. Lighthouse is dedicated to helping children and youth remain safely in their homes or smoothly transition through the juvenile justice or child welfare systems. Our team provides services to young people and families in their own communities while still addressing complex emotional and behavioral needs.

Inside Lighthouse events offer unique opportunities to learn more about the many ways Lighthouse serves young people and families to help them succeed.

This month, the focus is on Lighthouse Youth Center at Paint Creek in Bainbridge, Ohio. Lighthouse Youth Center at Paint Creek is a community-based option for boys ages 15-18 who have been adjudicated delinquent by a juvenile court in Ohio. The campus in rural Bainbridge, Ohio has no bars, wire fences, or guards. Security is achieved at the Center by maintaining a very structured program and constant staff presence. While on the residential campus, youth receive cognitive behavioral treatment interventions, mental health, sex offender specific, and substance abuse treatment- all designed to target criminogenic risk factors and teach youth how to manage their own behavior. Highly trained staff has a proven record of successfully treating youth who are sex offenders. Many of the boys complete high school coursework and earn a high school diploma while attending Paint Creek Academy, a charter school on campus. There are also opportunities for paid onsite work experience to enhance employability skills.

This month, the focus is on Mecum House. The Mecum House provides a safe haven for youth ages 10-17 who are physically or sexually abused, neglected, or for some other reason believe they can’t safely be in their own homes. It’s a place filled with caring and educated staff members who work hard to make kids feel safe, comfortable, and at home right away. No youth is ever turned away

This month, the focus is on Lighthouse Community Juvenile Justice Services. Lighthouse works to improve outcomes for youth ages 13-22 who become involved in the juvenile justice system. All services are designed to reduce the possibility of future criminal activity and provide youth with the skills needed for long-term success. This includes treatment, workforce development, educational advancement, and community engagement. Lighthouse Community Juvenile Justice Services are available in Hamilton, Montgomery, and Ross counties.

This month, the focus is on Lighthouse residential treatment programs. Lighthouse provides long-term housing and extensive support services to youth ages 11-18 with serious to severe emotional and behavioral problems combined with other needs.

If you want to start 2022 by getting your staff trained to deliver the PREP curriculum, we are offering an opportunity to do so over Zoom.

Facilitators must attend all four sessions to become PREP-certified. We can offer up to 12.75 social work/counselor CEUs for the series.

Dates for the sessions:  Feb 15, 16, 22, and 23 from 9:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Please reserve your spaces quickly, as these dates and times are subject to change based on the needs of our attendees.

If you want to attend but these dates/times don’t work for you, reach out to us! We will do what we can to make training possible for your organization.
