Graduation Requirements

The Lighthouse Community School is a diploma granting school.

Requirements include:

  •  22 units of credit distributed per the following list, for successful completion of the goals and objectives of his/her individual education plan (IEP)

English                                       4 credits
Social Studies                           3 credits (1 U.S. History, 1/2 Government, 1/2 Economics)
Mathematics                             3 credits
Science                                       3 credits (1 Biology, 1 Physical Science)
Physical Education/Health     1 credit
Business/Technology              1 credit
Electives                                     7 credits

Total                                             22 credits

  • Passed all five parts of the Ohio Graduation Test unless specifically exempted from the test by the IEP
  • A completed approved resume on file in the student’s record and graduation portfolio
  • 20 hours of community service
  • A writing sample that addresses and describes the student’s career and personal goals
  • Completion of the student’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP), goals and transition planning objectives
