Host Home Program
You can help make home happen.
The Host Home Program matches LGBTQ young adults in need of housing with volunteers in the community. Those volunteer hosts open their heart and home to provide housing, food, and mentorship to help the young adult achieve their goals.
Information for Hosts
Our program is always looking for hosts to help make home happen. Hosts can complete an application by downloading and completing this Lighthouse Safe and Supported Host Home Program Application. Completed applications should be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Hosting is a big commitment, but a commitment that can have an even bigger impact on the life of an LGBTQ young adult.
Hosts are responsible for providing a private room, food, and mentorship for a period of up to six months. Beyond slight utility bill and grocery expense increases, hosts are not required to spend money on resources or services for the young adult in their home. The Host Home Program provides each young adult with funds to help cover the costs of resources or services connected to helping them pursue their goals.
Hosting is a great way to make a difference in the life of young adult as well as get connected to the community you live in. Hosts receive training and one-on-one support from the program throughout the time they are involved.
