Foster parents are valuable members of our team. Your opinions and participation in assessment, goal setting, court proceedings, and team meetings are just a few ways you’re critical to the child’s success.
You will have:
- 24/7 support from an experienced foster parent who’s likely gone through many of the issues you face. He or she will be available for reporting, asking advice, or just talking to someone who knows what it’s like to be a foster parent.
- Weekly/biweekly visits with a licensed social worker to help you navigate the foster care system.
- Training and support from Lighthouse staff who have earned the trust and respect of social service agencies in our community.
- Access to respite care, both on a regular schedule and on an emergency basis.
