Behavioral Health and Psychiatric Services is one of Lighthouse Youth Services most creative divisions.   While the bulk of services are youth focused, the division includes therapists, case managers and life coaches with an enormous breadth of specialization such as very young children, autistic children and children with severe behavior disorders. Services are
designed so that children and youth can maintain a single therapist or a small group of wraparound workers who transition with them as they experience multiple out of home placements or as they journey through various settings such as school, home and the playground in order to maintain placement in their homes.  Services are also intended to serve a multiplicity of public sectors including the mental health/substance abuse systems, the child welfare system and juvenile justice system.  The unifying idea behind these services is that Lighthouse Youth Services will do whatever it can to help children and youth remain safely in their homes or to transition through the juvenile justice or child welfare systems.

Individual and/or Family Therapy/Case Management
Vice President: Debbie Bennett
Division Director: Patty LoVaglio

If you are a parent or youth in need of individual or family therapy, services can be individually tailored to fit your needs. These services can be available during non-traditional hours and in the office, in your home, or in the community.

The program descriptions below describe a locus of service but they only roughly define the limits of each program.  If you are a referring community provider charged with the public care and trust of a child or youth, contact the program director of the program that seems most closely allied with your child’s needs or contact the Division Director, Debbie Bennett, to discuss how services might be individualized to serve the best interest of that young person.

An individualized service plan is developed with the child and the treatment team to determine needs and establish goals.  Typical goals include achieving employment and related life skills, completing an educational program, saving and planning for the future, and responsible behavior.  Demonstrated long term outcomes are reduced juvenile crime and recidivism, successful completion of secondary education and stable adult employment.

2) Male or Female
3) Must have an SED diagnosis
4) Youth must be in or be discharging from out-of-home care
