The Help Me Grow program provides support and service coordination for families of infants and toddlers who are at risk for or are experiencing developmental delays.
Services are designed with the family's concerns and goals in mind and administered locally by county-based organizations. Staff members assist parents in helping their children grow and learn by facilitating their children's development and keeping them safe and healthy. Staff members also connect families with other services in the community that will assist in their child's continuing development. Both programs use established evidence based practices: Growing Great Kids and Parents as Teachers
Help Me Grow is designed to help first time parents who are pregnant or whose children are birth to three years old. Eligibility must also be established according to a small number of risk factors which may include certain medical diagnoses or developmental delay.
Referrals are made by numerous community providers including doctors, hospitals, health and social service agencies or parents may refer themselves. All referrals are made through a central intake department, 281-GROW (281-4769).
Parents unsure of their eligibility should call 281-GROW and discuss their situation with the intake staff. Those who are not eligible will be referred to other community services that are more appropriate for them.
